Blue color: coolness in your home
The first color that helps to calm and relax in hot weather is blue. It is the one most often found in the decoration of holiday homes or hotels by the sea.
The maritime theme, which has recently gained particular popularity, deserves a separate topic and will be discussed in detail in one of our future articles. The combination of white and blue colors has already become standard in the design of bathrooms and kitchens.
“Cool” shades not only make the room cooler but also visually enlarge the space. This property is especially useful in small rooms.
“If you have a small hallway that is also elongated and narrow, we recommend painting it pure light blue. Thanks to this solution, the space will not only appear larger but will also be filled with a special lightness and purity,” notes Sergey Kovalenko, Marketing and Sales Director of the “ZIP” company.

Another feature of the blue color is its strong influence on a person. For example, physiologists and psychologists have long proven that this color reduces appetite in most people. Therefore, using blue or light blue in the interior of a dining room is justified only if you are on a diet.
Blue can become the main color of your living room. After a hard working day, a “blue living room” relaxes and soothes.
If you decide to use blue as the main color of the room, we recommend varying such light blue shades as “Cup of Tea,” “Mist over the Nile,” etc. They can be used as the main wall color – they can comfort, calm, and evoke a sense of well-being. Light blue colors are most often chosen by women.
“With darker shades like ‘Dynasty’ or ‘Blue with Purple,’ one should be more cautious because in large quantities they can cause melancholy. However, dark tones can successfully highlight accents,” notes Sergey Kovalenko, Marketing and Sales Director of the “ZIP” company.
Experienced designers try to balance blue with warm tones. The combination of blue with yellow, red, or pink is perfect for decorating children’s rooms.
As mentioned at the beginning, the combination of blue with white is considered decorative classic. Turquoise color harmonizes perfectly with pastel tones.
In our next article, we will talk about how to bring a piece of the sea into your city apartment and about maritime elements in decor.
