How to paint a ceiling without streaks?
Anyone who has done repairs at least once has encountered the appearance of streaks after painting. This raises a logical series of questions – what is the reason? How to fix the situation? And how to paint the ceiling without streaks at all.
- One of the reasons for the appearance of streaks on the ceiling is excessively thick paint. Very viscous paint is quite difficult to distribute evenly on the surface.
To avoid this situation, it is best to choose “TRIORA” paint, which has an excellent consistency, is easy and evenly applied, and does not drip on your head during painting.
- Another reason for the appearance of paint streaks is excessively slow work. Painting should be done relatively quickly, before the painted areas dry, so that the boundaries between them are not noticeable.
- An incorrectly chosen tool can also cause streaks. It is worth remembering that smooth surfaces should only be painted with a roller with short nap. Rollers with long nap can cause streaks and unevenness.
- And, of course, the most common reason is an improperly prepared base.
Before painting, it is necessary to examine the ceiling. If it has any irregularities, they need to be filled with “TRIORA” finishing acrylic filler. After that, it is mandatory to prime the surface depending on its condition.
When the ceiling looks perfect, you can start painting.
To paint the ceiling without streaks you need to:
- Create optimal lighting. It is best to carry out painting in daylight. It is in daylight that you can see all unpainted areas that ultimately spoil the coating.
- For successful painting, it is necessary for the room to have a normal temperature of about 180C and humidity of about 65%.
- Do not forget about preparation. The ceiling should be even and necessarily primed.
- The roller must be thoroughly soaked with paint, but at the same time, it should not drip from it so that the paint lays evenly on the ceiling.
- Before painting the main area, the roller with paint must be thoroughly rolled out on a small section.
- It is best to apply paint with W-shaped movements quickly and continuously so that the paint does not have time to dry.
- After applying the first layer, it is necessary to carefully inspect it, and if there are any unpainted spots while the surface is still wet, roll over them. After drying the first layer, you can proceed to apply the second one.
By following these recommendations, you can paint the ceiling quickly and efficiently without any paint streaks.
