Self-Motivation: How to Motivate Yourself Properly?
Today you can find a huge number of different tips on how to motivate yourself. We offer you the most effective tips for increasing personal efficiency that really work in practice.
Proper Motivation: 8 Steps
Canadian ethnographer and documentarian Ian MacKenzie, who managed to make his life bright and fulfilling, shared his experience of self-motivation.
- Use visual motivators. These can be inspiring quotes, posters on the wall with photos or drawings of outstanding personalities, that is, everything that will help you start changing your life for the better.
- Communicate with positive people. In our environment, there are two types of people: those who support and inspire us and those who constantly ground us. Try to avoid the second type and communicate more with the first type of people.
- Read inspiring literature – books that uplift and inspire you.
- Love yourself and watch what you say to yourself. A positive attitude towards oneself is very important. How we treat ourselves has a very strong impact on our attitude towards life in general.
- Do not forget about your health – good sleep, proper nutrition, rest – what is good for the body is also good for the spirit.
- Always look at things from a positive side. Certainly, we cannot control what happens in our lives, but we can control our attitude towards it.
- Take time to rest. After all, nothing and no one is eternal, and every person needs a good rest.
- Help other people change their worldview and look at the world positively. If at some point you feel like you’re being “sucked into a swamp,” those around you will be able to support you.

Practical Tips from Michael Moore
Michael Moore – American writer, political activist, filmmaker says:
- Get out of your comfort zone. In fact, this is extremely difficult to do, but it’s worth understanding that the comfort zone is what prevents us from realizing our potential. Step out of your comfort zone and then wonderful changes in life will await you.
- Dedicate time to self-development – read books, listen to lectures, for example, when you are commuting to or from work.
- Live in the present moment. If you live in the past or future, then nothing will happen in your present life at all.
- Finish what you start. Having started something – be sure to bring it to completion before moving on to something new.
Often on the path to success, we set obstacles for ourselves by not believing in our abilities and coming up with excuses:
- I was born in the wrong place; I don’t have the right status;
- I don’t have connections or resources;
- The time is lost; I should have started earlier, etc.
Familiar?
Discard all your fears and start using your resources to the fullest to achieve success. As Henry Ford said, when we start, we have everything there is in the world, but how we use it all – that’s what determines our achievements!
Motivate yourself, move forward and believe in Henry Ford! =)
Good luck!
