Such different primers – what to choose from the TRIORA assortment
You know that primer is essential for quality painting, but are unsure among the wide range of options? To avoid disappointment with your purchase, let’s find out how to distinguish TRIORA primers and which one is right for you.
All About Primers
What is the purpose of priming a surface?
- Strengthens the top layer of the walls.
- Smooths small particles and removes dust, creating a smooth surface ready for new coatings.
- Improves adhesion of materials, securely bonding the final layer to the base.
Primers differ from each other in their components and concentration. The concentration determines the density of the film on the surface and the adhesion of subsequent layers of materials. The lower the concentration, the more layers of primer you’ll need. If, after drying, you run your hand over the wall and no traces remain, you have achieved an ideal coating. It’s also important not to overdo it with primer—otherwise, the wall will become as smooth as a mirror and won’t be able to hold subsequent materials.
For Every Case and Surface
What types of primers are there? They are divided according to functionality and area of application. The TRIORA range includes 6 types of primers.
Universal Primer speaks for itself by name. This is a material with a low concentration of active substance. It is well suited for base coating of normal walls that do not strongly absorb materials and do not crumble.
Deep Penetrating Reinforcing Primer is more saturated in composition than universal primer. It can be used for old walls where dense coverage is needed.
Universal Primer Concentrate 1 to 5. Suitable for any surfaces, it has a very high concentration level, allowing you to make any necessary primer simply by diluting it with water. In its concentrated form, it is good for priming old walls.
Waterproofing Primer. Its purpose is to block water from entering the wall and protect the surface. That’s why this primer has the highest concentration. It’s ideal for outdoor work and damp rooms.
BIO-Protective Agent. It is used to protect walls from mold and mildew. BIO-protection is applied according to the principle of primers—on dry and cleaned walls. If you decide to use it for disinfecting walls, note that it does not form a film and the wall must be additionally primed afterwards.
How to Choose a Primer?
Specify exactly what you need from the material. If it’s just one of the steps in preparing new building walls for renovation, a universal primer will suffice. If you’re renovating a bathroom, then use TRIORA waterproofing primer. It penetrates deep into walls, creates a dense film that prevents water from getting into panels, and reliably protects against excess moisture.
Planning various works? Primer concentrate 1 to 5 will be suitable. You can dilute it as needed for each coating type.
There’s a primer for every situation! This is an important part of repairing any surfaces—with its help you can create a truly strong and long-lasting coating.
