Where to get the energy for success?
When an electrical appliance has new batteries, it works efficiently, but when the batteries run low, its usefulness is close to zero. The same thing happens with people. When you are full of energy, you can do anything. When you’re tired, your dreams are limited to just the couch and sleep. How can you recharge your “batteries”? Where can you find the energy for successful work and achieving your goals? Let’s look for ways to restore strength.
What do we do with energy?
Every day we live in a whirlwind of events, accompanied by a wide range of emotions. Energy is spent on everything that attracts our attention. Are you upset because your commute to work went badly, you’re running out of time to meet a deadline, or you just feel sorry for a bird? All these things may seem insignificant, but they seriously drain your strength.
3 Enemies of Energy
- Sorting out relationships, arguing, or dealing with an unwanted interlocutor—these are the consumers of your inner energy. Moreover, you inadvertently feed the other side with your own energy. Remember this every time an unpleasant situation arises. If someone provokes you into conflict, avoid it. You need your energy for yourself; don’t sacrifice it for others.
- Excessive involvement in other people’s problems, additional responsibilities. Of course, you are caring when you help loved ones. But it’s better to do this when you truly understand that the person cannot handle the task alone. For example, an elderly aunt physically cannot go shopping on icy roads—it’s worth helping her. But if your younger brother asks you to buy him a football ticket… It would be more appropriate to say no.
- Excessive ambition. Assess your strengths realistically. Don’t set yourself overly high goals. You’ll waste a lot of energy trying to achieve them. And if you happen to fail, you’ll feel frustration and disappointment, draining your energy further. Don’t chase victory at any cost. Steady and deliberate work will lead you to success, and at the finish line, you’ll be full of strength and eager to keep going.
Secrets of Conserving Energy
Often, when our phone is running low on battery, we switch it to power-saving mode. Does it work worse? No. Live by this principle as well.
- Review and analyze everything you do. Keep only what is necessary.
- Minimize communication with people who are unpleasant or upset you.
- Find time for yourself during the day. Make this period one of restoration—do what you enjoy.
How can you replenish your energy? A helpful rule: all positive emotions benefit your energy; every negative emotion “discharges” you. Move confidently toward your goal, don’t get distracted by trivial factors, protect your inner resources, take only the positive from life—and success won’t keep you waiting long.
